About Holly

I see therapy as a collaborative effort between therapist and client. Using various approaches, I strive to help people live their best lives. Recognizing that each person is unique and has their own ideas of how they want their lives to be, I embrace the concept that "you are the expert on you" but simply need some guidance on how to get there. I utilize mindfulness, behavioral strategies, and skill-building to assist clients in regaining control of their emotions and dealing with life's stresses.

I have been working in the mental health field for 15 years in a variety of settings. As a nursing home social worker, I gained a great deal of knowledge on how physical health affects one's mental and emotional state. This knowledge has led to my holistic approach to therapy. Working on a suicide hotline gave me the tools to help those in crisis and their families, as well as gain a deeper understanding of suicidality, its causes, and how to help those experiencing it. I’ve been doing individual therapy for the past 6 years, first at a community mental health facility and now at a private practice.

What has not changed through all of this has been my commitment and belief in the ideals of social work practice. As a member of the National Association of Social Workers, I strive to uphold the ethics and values of my profession. It is my intent that all people have access to counseling, regardless of income or insurance coverage. Because of this, I utilize a sliding scale for rates of service as well as taking insurance. If you want therapy, but are afraid you can’t afford it, please contact me to see how we can work together to meet your needs.
